Antalya - Turkish Riviera

Duden Waterfalls

Not only does the region around Antalya have awe-inspiring historical ruins, it also has natural beauties that are absolutely enchanting. After enjoying the breathtaking beauty of the Upper Duden Waterfalls located 14 kilometers to the north-east of Antalya, you can easily walk from them to the ancient cave located behind the falls. And then, at a spot along the Lara Beach Road, you can watch with your own eyes as the waters spilling from the Lower Duden Falls cascade from a height of forty meters into the sea below. Eighteen kilometers from the city are the exquisitely beautiful Kursunlu (lead) Falls and Lake Nilufer. Located to the west of the city, the nearby, pebble Konyaalti Beach offers yet another feast for the eyes, a view of the magnificent Bey Mountains. To the north-south of Antalya is the Gulluk Mountain National Park, a park that is home to the ruins of the ancient city of Termessos. The ruins are located on a meadow located 1050 meters high and perched in the western slopes of the Gulluk Mountain. As you wander around the ruins of this once-grand city of antiquity, clambering around ancient monuments, you will be amazed at the pristine nature of the site. At the entrance to the park is a museum of natural life.

50-000 year old historical marks The Carain Cave

Carain Cave

Located 30 kilometers from Antalya, the Carain Cave is Turkey's oldest human settlement, a settlement dating as far back as the Paleolithic Age (50,000 BC). The cave has only one entrance, but it is made up of three inter-connecting chambers. While a handful of the artifacts found here are displayed at the small museum located at the cave's entrance, most of this cave's artifacts are today displayed in various museums in Turkey.
