Bodrum Fortress

The highest point of this fort that was built by the Knights of Saint John in the early 14th century on the promontory separating the two ports is the French lower. The chapel made of collected material that is in the courtyard of the fort, is an elegant example of Gothic architecture.
The Bodrum Underwater Museum is located within the fort. Among the exhibits of the museum there are amphorae and jugs found underwater, the wreck of a ship from the Bronze Age, the Yassiada wreck and the artifacts found in the tomb of the Princess of Caria.

Bodrum - The Blue Voyage

Bodrum is an important center of this cruise over blue seas that begins from Kusadasi and ends in the bays near Antalya, and goes through inlets of an incredible beauty. The Aegean and Mediterranean inlets between Bodrum and Demre make up the best part of the blue voyage itinerary. The Blue Voyage is generally done by means of 20-25 meter long wooden vessels, and even though sails are used during favorable weather, the vessels mostly proceed with their engines. Tours that begin from Bodrum follow one of two itineraries. One includes the Gokova Bay, the other the Gulluk Bay. If you opt for the Gulluk (Mandalya) Bay direction, you will have the opportunity of visiting ancient cities like Didim, Miletos, Priene and Iasos. Cruises that depart from Marmaris, will include the Hisaronu and Sombeki bays, and the Datca peninsula or the Fethiye Bay. One day of the cruise going to the Fethiye Bay will be reserved for Dalyan and the ancient Caunos city.

Bodrum - Nightlife

Bodrum, which has enriched the spectrum of colors with the Bodrum Blue color, is of an enchanting beauty, thanks to its special blue sea, white houses and cool breeze...

Blazing white houses, narrow alleyways, a silken sea with all shades of blue, and the warm-blooded people of the Aegean—all are Bodrum's well-known characteristics, and features of which the visitor can never get his or her fill. We understand immediately why Homer called this place the "land of eternal blue", and another inhabitant of Bodrum, Cevat Sakir, said, "I would rather be living in the light of this place, than seeing the eternal light in my final resting place." Throughout history, Bodrum, which was known as Halicarnassus in ancient times, has been a place that people have fought over.
Bodrum, with its fort rising on the promontory between its eastern and western ports, its white houses strung along the shores of its two ports, its domes, narrow streets leading to the sea, and its world famous yachts and boat making industry, is a famous resort.

This spectacularly beautiful area, where nature and history go hand in hand, is also noteworthy for its historic wealth. The mausoleum, which is one of the world's seven wonders, was also located in Bodrum. The amphorae, left over from naval wrecks of centuries ago are also local.

Nightlife
Among the resort towns of the Aegean shores, Bodrum is the one most famous for its exciting life-style.
